Introduction
An opportunity to dive into technology is always excites to the curious minds. The Tech WinterBreak’24, organized under the banner of GDG on Campus at GCOEN gave the opportunity to thosecurious minds. This Tech Winter Break’24 provided a workshop for tech enthusiasts to explorefundamental concepts in app development. The main goal of this workshop held on 12th December2024 was to guide beginners of app development to flutter, a modern and popular UI toolkit, theworkshop sought to equip participants with the tools to develop cross-platform applications.
Main Session
This workshop had organized its activities through online mode. Workshop started with theintroduction of the speaker who later on guided to the intro of the workshop in simple, beginnerfriendly language which had ample information to grab. This hands-on session introduced us to thebasics of Flutter, why it stands out among frameworks, and how Dart plays a crucial role in buildingseamless applications. The hands-on experience included the setting up the development environmentand building a basic Flutter application. The best enhancer to this workshop was its doubt clearingquestion and answer session which enabled students to clarify their learning and revise the conceptlearned in the workshop. The speaker gave the additional learning resources to the students showingthe path to follow this journey of acquiring the skill of app development. The event wrapped up withannouncement of the upcoming workshops that can help those curious minds to interact again withthe speaker.
Outcome
The workshop successfullyintroduced over participants toFlutter and app developmentfundamentals. This providedhands-on experience in creating abasic Flutter application. Thistech event Encouragedcollaboration and peer learningamong participants from variousinstitutions and successfully increased the interest in advancedapp development and other GDGinitiatives.
Summary
The App Development Workshopof Tech Winter Break’24 wasconducted online and recorded anenthusiastic response fromstudents and tech enthusiasts. The collaboration with JDCOEM, RCOEM, YCCE, and Cummins amplified its reach, ensuring a diverseand engaged audience. Participants appreciated the interactive and practical approach of the sessions.
